Meet The Team

I am a Data Analyst with a Masters of Science in Business Analytics from UC Irvine. I have 3+ years of experience in analytics, stats, and tutoring in math. I know what it feels like to struggle, and I am passionate about helping students who are struggling by meeting them where they are at and helping them achieve their goals. Sometimes the journey is easier when someone is helping you take the next step.

At the base of analytics and statistics is mathematics. While math can seem like a soup of numbers, I am here to help you confidently master everything from the the slopes of pre-algebra, through derivatives and integrals of Calculus AB/BC!

In addition to tutoring in math, I am a native Spanish speaker. From forming basic sentences, completing homework, or preparing for the AP test, I am happy to help you navigate your Spanish fluency!

 

 During my spare time I like to watch anime, play league of legends, and exercise. Let's chart your trajectory to success!

Hi! My name is Kate Pla and I have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Concordia University Irvine. With Computer Science, I am able to create streamlined and effective codes that make large tasks easier and faster. I am proud when I can use my skills to help others. From coding in robotics, to creating my own automatic coin-sorting treasure chest, coding is a language that you can learn too!

In my time at Concordia University Irvine, I was a tutor for freshmen computer science courses and helped my students build confidence in: Python, C#, Java, and HTML. If you need someone to help bridge the gap from an idea to a full script, or if you want someone to help revise your code, I am your expert!

Alongside the languages of Computer Science, my first language, Spanish, has been with me all of my life. I am happy to help my students learn to express their thoughts, hold a conversation, enjoy music, and excel in Spanish. Aprende conmigo!

In my free time I enjoy watching TikTok, Dancing with the Stars, various novelas, and I am a huge Swiftie. When I am not tutoring, I am on my next adventure for good boba.

Hello, I’m Dr. Stephanie Matsuno! Science and learning doesn’t have to feel like a contest of who can memorize a textbook best. Whether you’re struggling with chemistry calculations, breaking down biology concepts, or staring at a blank page for your English essay, we can solve it together.

 

I’ve taught at all levels from nervous freshman to confident seniors, and here’s what I know to be true: you are capable and you are smarter than you think. It may seem frustrating now, but you can make a breakthrough. Sometimes you just need someone to explain things in a way that works for you. I use real-world examples (even memes, or pop culture references) to connect difficult concepts into pieces that you already know. 

 

When I’m not teaching, I like to try new coffee/ boba shops, or I’m enjoying the latest webtoon. Learning doesn’t have to be frustrating, it should be engaging and growing your curiosity for whatever you decide to pursue in the future. The misconceptions are just stepping stones to your success. Let’s find a way that works for you!

Hi, I am Karen Pla and I have a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design and a minor in the Fine Arts from Concordia University Irvine. I have always been passionate about art and have used art as a way to express feelings, dreams, hopes, and remember fond memories. I enjoy teaching and helping others find how art can tell their unique story and reflect their feelings.

At Concordia University Irvine, I served as a mentor to freshmen with their general education classes, and Graphic Design Lab Assistant at Concordia University Irvine, where I helped students master Adobe (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). I am the arts expert who can help you start, edit, or print your next creative story! Together we can bring your designs into reality.

On my personal time. I enjoy watching FRIENDS,  The Big Bang Theory, and Disney. My favorite Disney Princess, and often an inspiration for me, is Cinderella.  I also enjoy walking around the park and playing video games.
